Inner Monologues: An Anatomical Perspective

Phase 1

The first phase of Inner Monologues: An Anatomical Perspective serves as a platform for legitimate interdisciplinary research, bridging medical science with philosophical inquiry. By inviting medical students to craft academic-style papers from the perspectives of individual organs, the project seeks to uncover unique insights into the human body as a dynamic, interconnected system. Each submission uses first-person narratives or reflections to highlight not only the biological functions of the organ but also its imagined existential experience—its “role,” “relationships,” and “identity” within the body. This phase provides a creative avenue for future healthcare professionals to think critically about the philosophical dimensions of anatomy, fostering a holistic understanding of the body as more than a mechanical structure but as a living, relational ecosystem.

Phase 2

In the second phase, STChM seeks to extend the exploration of perspective by selecting one standout submission from Phase One to serve as the foundation for an experimental AI-driven film project. This film will mirror the core themes of perspective, introspection, and interconnectedness by using advanced AI tools to create a dynamic, evolving visual and narrative experience. The meta-narrative of this film will explore how shifting perspectives can reveal hidden truths about both the microcosm of the body and the broader human condition. Through this project, STChM aims to challenge the conventions of storytelling and immerse audiences in a multi-layered reflection on identity, function, and the existential interplay between self and system.
